چکیده
There has been a worldwide interest to develop supersonic business jet (SSBJ) for minimum range of 4000 nm with low sonic boom intensity and high fuel efficiency. An SSBJ design model is developed in the GENUS aircraft conceptual environment. With model, low-boom low-drag concept designed optimized. This article studies its operational performances. The sustained cruise flight studied find out fuel-efficient Mach number altitude combinations. combined subsonic scenarios are evaluate feasibility boom-free routes. one-stop scenario compare consumption time advantage over airliners. off-design explore space assuming there would be limit future. Through studies, it revealed that corresponding most operating specific number. To operate near cutoff leads both increases (6.3%–8.1%) mission (11.7%–13.1%). business-class transport (231 g/PAX/km) consumes nearly three times as economic-class (77 g/PAX/km), which still far more than (20 g/PAX/km). Off-design reveal different trends against common understanding: does not necessarily decrease increases; decreases.

AIAA 2002–5598 Design of a Low-Boom Supersonic Business Jet Using Cokriging Approximation Models
In this paper we study the ability of the Cokriging method to represent functions with multiple local minima and sharp discontinuities for use in the multidimensional design of a low-boom supersonic business jet wing-body-canard configuration. Cokriging approximation models are an extension of the original Kriging method which incorporate secondary information such as the values of the gradient...
متن کاملMulti-Fidelity Design Optimization of Low-Boom Supersonic Business Jets
The practical use of high-fidelity multidisciplinary optimization techniques in low-boom supersonic business jet designs has been limited because of the high computational cost associated with CFD-based evaluations of both the performance and the loudness of the ground boom of the aircraft. This is particularly true of designs that involve the sonic boom loudness as either a cost function or a ...

متن کاملHigh-Fidelity Aerostructural Design Optimization of a Supersonic Business Jet
This paper focuses on the demonstration of an integrated aerostructural method for the design of aerospace vehicles. Both aerodynamics and structures are represented using high-fidelity models such as the Euler equations for the aerodynamics and a detailed finite element model for the primary structure. The aerodynamic outer-mold line and a structure of fixed topology are parameterized using a ...
متن کاملA Low Cost Numerical Simulation of a Supersonic Wind-tunnel Design
In the present paper, a supersonic wind-tunnel is designed to maintain a flow with Mach number of 3 in a 30cm×30cm test section. An in-house CFD code is developed using the Roe scheme to simulate flow-field and detect location of normal shock in the supersonic wind-tunnel. In the Roe scheme, flow conditions at inner and outer sides of cell faces are determined using an upwind biased algorithm. ...
